Union County Master Gardener Scholarship
At the Wednesday, May 19, North Union High School Awards Program, Kaylee Smith received the Eleventh Annual Union County Master Gardener Scholarship Award of $1,000. Kaylee is a senior at North Union High School and will be attending Pennsylvania State University where their agricultural program will allow her to travel and study in Latin America.
The scholarship is awarded to a Union County resident pursuing advanced study in the field of plant science. The Union County Master Gardeners, a not-for-profit organization, promotes environmentally sound, research-based gardening practices primarily to the residents of Union County under the auspices of The Ohio State University Extension of Union County.
The Master Gardeners of Union County, Ohio is a specially trained volunteer group helping The Ohio State University Extension to educate and assist the community in horticultural pursuits. A scholarship in the amount of $1,000 will be awarded to one applicant. Only one scholarship will be awarded per year. Applicants are eligible to apply in future years.
