Dear 4-H Advisors and Families,

I am thankful to be part of OSU Extension 4-H, both my local team of coworkers and volunteers and my statewide team of colleagues.  I am grateful to the leaders and administrators at OSU who are making very difficult decisions to protect all of us.  I’ve been in this role a long while and I can’t remember a time of more uncertainty and feelings of loss of over things that will not happen for now.

I am sharing with you ( link below) additional decisions regarding 4-H programming in Ohio, including that we will not have 4-H Camps this summer.

Kirk Bloir (Assistant Director 4-H Youth Development) Letter

I trust we will continue to operate as a community of members, teen leaders, advisors, volunteers and families to be supportive and encouraging of each other, the folks who are working to keep us safe, and the decision makers who are making tough decisions.  Let’s practice patience and forgiveness, for ourselves and everyone else.  Let’s remind ourselves and our friends of the things that matter most.

We will endure, and ultimately, I hope our “heads to clearer thinking and our hearts to larger service” will enable us to value what’s most important as we move forward.

Hopefully,
