2023 Program Notes & Updates

Enrollment Information for 2023

Please login to oh.4HOnline.com to enroll yourself for 2023. Once approved by our office, you will be able to login to access your club information.

Please direct families to our website for complete re-enrollment instructions.

*Note: you no longer need to “confirm” members as they enroll.

New members will also build a profile and enroll themselves in 4-HOnline. This includes those who have never been in 4-H or those who were previously in the Countywide Cloverbuds Club.  We’ve created a new resource for you to give new families to help them find enrollment information.

Enrollment deadlines:
  • 4-H Families and Advisors to re-enroll themselves in 4HOnline: March 1.
  • NEW (never been in 4-H before) members enroll themselves by: April 1
  • Deadline for all members to change projects: April 1

New Volunteer Advisor process

New volunteer applicants must attend the New Volunteer Orientation meeting that incorporates the Child Abuse Protection Training. Potential new volunteers should submit their application, complete an interview with Christy, and then have their fingerprints taken for the Background Check. We need to have their applications in our system before they are fingerprinted so that OSU knows where the volunteer is enrolling.

Across County Line Membership & FFA Projects

Enrollment is the time of the year to check to see if you have any members living outside of Union County. If so, potential members will need to apply for Across County Line Membership using the form available on the website. Also, if you have teen members that are also in FFA, check to see that they are planning separate projects for 4-H and FFA.

County 4-H Dues

County 4-H Dues will again be $6 per member. Make checks payable to Union County 4-H Council by May 1st.

4-H Open House: Help needed to showcase projects

The 4-H Advisory Council will be hosting a 4-H Open House on Saturday January 28, in the OSUE Buckeye Room, 10am-12 Noon. We seek members who would be willing to share/showcase their projects during the Open House. Good visuals are desired. Volunteer to Christy if you want to help.

Livestock Information Summaries for Union County and Richwood Fairs

These resources will be available on our web site mid- January. They contain basic information such as dates and deadlines and weight requirements.

Project Reminders:

Shooting Sports Projects: Youth interested in taking a Shooting Sports project must be working under the guidance of a 4-H Certified Shooting Sports instructor. 4-Her’s from any club can participate in Shooting Sports activities under the direction of Darby Clovers Club instructors and maintain their membership in their home club. They must attend the mandatory Shooting Sports Safety meeting. If you have youth interested in a Shooting Sports project your role is to connect them to the Shooting sports Advisors & program.

Horse Projects: Must be enrolled in a horse club and are required to complete a Horse Project because a lot of specialized horse project information is dispensed through the Horse Clubs.  For example, Horse ID Cards, EquiStep completion requirements, practice ride requirements, etc.

Dog projects: Dog projects can be taken in any club.  We do have one Dog Club in Union County for members who want to make this their primary project focus.  The Dog club also welcomes members outside of their club to practice with them.

Demo Day: Countywide Demonstration Contest
