The Union County Extension Office welcomes Jon Rausch as your new Extension Educator, Agriculture and Natural Resources. Jon was raised on a dairy farm and graduated from Ohio State University with a Master’s in Agriculture Economics and will be taking over for the retired John Hixson. Following graduation Jon was the Agriculture Program Leader for Cornell Cooperative Extension, Seneca County, up state New York, until 1995 when he took a position with Ohio State University Extension. Prior to coming to Union County Jon had statewide programming responsibilities which focused on water quality issues. In his new role as county educator Jon intends to continue conducting on-farm research and developing education programs for farmers in Union County.
