Review highlights of the Buckeye Yard and Garden Line at each meeting (5 minute review). Use the most current report.COYC Garden Eunice Hornsby, Chairperson
Develop a comprehensive flower and garden plan for the youth at COYC. The youth will do all the planting and maintenance under the guidance of the Master Gardeners. Planning to being in January, 2007, with installation of gardens in mid-May.Emerald Ash Borer
Prepare a Power Point presentation on the Emerald Ash Borer. Review current literature and customize report for Union County. Contact local service clubs (Elks, Lions) and other organizations (Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, etc.) and line up speaking engagements. Develop a team of Master Gardeners who are familiar with Emerald Ash Borer program, as speaker. Suggest a demonstration or take home demonstration which would excite their imagination. Field questions from homeowners on horticultural subjects. Provide literature on horticultural topics appropriate for the season. ID samples or submit to OSU for analysis and advertise location or booth, date and time each month.Marysville Journal Tribune Articles
Write 2-3 descriptive paragraphs on a horticulture topic current to the season. Use Fact Sheets or OSU Extension publications for reference. Submit article (preferably electronically) so the article may be emailed to George McVey for approval. Set to newspaper after approval. Need to be completed 2 weeks in advance (Thursday afternoon deadline).
