The Master Gardeners of Union County will host their 10th Annual Garden Tour on Sunday, July 9, 2006 in Green Pastures, a development known for it’s friendly front porches and curb appeal.  The tour will be held rain or shine from 1 to 5 p.m.

Those that enjoy walking, may choose to stroll the neighborhood’s wide sidewalks to visit the 10 featured gardens or may opt to ride one of the UCATS Shuttle Buses. Master Gardeners will be at each site to answer your questions. Visitors will experience the “art of gardening” and take away artistic inspiration as they view a palette of annual and perennial color, small vegetable gardens, fruit trees, water features, scenic wooded spaces and a brilliant solution to a sloping ravine.  Educational displays will be set up at Trinity Park.

After the tour, visitors are invited to “A Gathering on the Green” at the Lakeside Apartments in Green Pastures. The Cardinal Health Chamber Orchestra will kick off the festivities at 4:30 pm followed by a door prize “drawing” and live art auction of paintings created for the tour by high school art students. Food by Perk-a-Deli Restaurant and Jumbo  Ice Tea will be available during the tour from Noon until 6 pm.

And After the Tour......

"A Gathering on the Green" will feature the Cardinal Health Orchestra. If you enjoy hearing live music (and who doesn't), you''ll want to stay!

Forty-five talented musicians who comprise the Cardinal Health Orchestra will perform their summer concert theme, Romance, Marches and the Silver Screen, after the tour. The all-volunteer group, who are techies, accountants, marketers, purchasers and the like, by day, have teamed up to bring concert hall-style music to central Ohio retirement homes, schools and community festivals for over 7 years. Cardinal employee, Ron Reich, co-founded the group. Fellow Cardinal employees and employees from other companies joined them, and now Cardinal management supports them, purchasing the group's supplies and  music. "They are our ambassadors", said Debra Hadley, Cardinal's Director of Community Relations.

What a perfect way to conclude the day! The concert will run 1 hour and begins at 4:30 pm on "the green" at the Lakeside Apartments at Green Pastures. Look for the large white tent........ and don't forget to BRING A LAWN CHAIR!

and there's more .........

A "drawing" for door prizes, the announcement of the "Patio Garden Contest" winners and a live Art Auction will follow the concert.
