Renting Farmland will
be held at the Liberty Township Hall, 21463 State Route 347, Raymond.
The program will be from 9 am till 12 Noon.
This is a meeting which is structured
for landlords who wish to learn more about renting their land. This program
will give you more information on land rent, which will make you more prepared
to work out a fair arrangement with your farmer. Presentations by: Jerry
Althauser, FAS Director; Robin Leonard, District Soil Conservationists;
Don Breece, OSU Extension, Farm Management Specialist and John Hixson, OSU
Extension Agent, Union County.

New Pesticide Certification Training Meeting
at the Allen Township Hall, 16945 Allen Center Road,
Marysville. Pre-registration is necessary by calling the Extension
Office at 644.8117 or 1 (800) 589.8584.
Also, it is recommended that you purchase
study materials for both the core category and each category you wish to
be tested. This materials will help you to study the appropriate materials.
The study materials are available at the Extension Office.

Pesticide Testing will
be administered by the Ohio Department of Agricultural at the Allen
Township Hall, 16945 Allen Center Road,
Marysville on January 30 at 1 p.m.. There is no cost to take the private
applicators test.
You must have 2 forms of Identification,
including a photo ID. Please let us know of your interest in taking the test
so that we can provide you with the appropriate pre-test information.
Pre-register by January 28, by contacting the Union County Extension Office.
Master Gardener School
The 2003 Union County Master Gardener School will
be held during the month of February and March. With the final class
being held on April 1.

Private Pesticide Re-certification program will be
held at the Champaign County Extension Office from 9 am till Noon. It
will also be held during the evening at the Logan County Game & Gun Club
from 6:30 - 9:30 p.m.
Cost of each of the meetings will be $3. You will be able to be re-certified
in any of the categories you have, although for some of the minor categories
you may need to stay a little later.
Remember, you do not neet to wait until the year your re-certification experies
to renew your hours. You can begin any time within 3 years of your expiration
date.

Strip Tillage Meeting will provide the most
current technology on Strip Tillage. The program will be held at the
Liberty Township Building in Raymond. Registration will begin at 9 am
with the program to begin at 9:30 a.m. and continue on till Noon.
Pre-registration is requested. Please contact the Union Soil and Water
Conservation Office at 642.5871 or O.S.U. Extension at 644.8117 or 1.800.589.8584
to pre-register.
Anyone considering strip tillage should attend the meeting to gain insight
on practical aspects of how the system works and what the benefits of the
system are.
